Q. How do I reserve a book?

Answer

If an item is already out on loan or on display, a borrower may place a reservation on that item through the library catalogue (or by taking the display item to the main issue desk and asking that a reservation be placed for them).

To reserve an item through the online library catalogue, go to: http://www.library.usp.ac.fj/cgi-bin/spydus.exe/MSGTRN/OPAC/HOME

Bring up the record of the book that you want to reserve. Click the "place reservation" button and you will be asked to type in your borrower ID number and PIN. Your borrower ID number is the number by the barcode on your card that start with US and ends with P. But you only need to type in the five numbers. Your PIN is your student or staff number that starts with S or H (unless you requested the main issue desk to change your PIN number to something else).

In the box "item to reserve" select "any copy from the USP library general.

In the box "pickup location," select your pickup location.

Click the place reservation button. The screen will confirm your reservation if all information entered on the previous screen was correct. If it does not say confirmed, you will have to go through the steps above again.
