Where are the print journals (periodicals) located in the library? What about the newspapers and current journal subscriptions?

Answer

There are several locations these are kept.

  • The social sciences journals are kept on Level B
  • Science journals are kept on Level C in the general collection of the library
  • Current newspapers can be found on the Level A
  • Current subscriptions of journals i.e. the latest issue, are on Level C in the New Books Display
  • Pacific related titles and back copies of newspapers are located in the Pacific Collection on Level C and can only be accessed and read there

Periodicals on Levels B & C begin with the abbreviation PER are shelved by call number which can be found using the library's online catalogue. e.g. National Geographic is shelved at PER G1.N27

We also have many online serials which can be accessed through the Library catalogue or the journals page.
